Our client is seeking a Benefits Analyst to support the administration of their medical, dental, vision, wellness, workers’ compensation, and leave programs. In this role, you’ll guide employees through benefits and leave matters, partner with providers and internal teams, and help improve the programs and processes that support our workforce.
What You’ll Do
- Advise employees on eligibility and coverage for medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and retirement plans.
- Conduct new-hire orientation and deliver benefits training for employees and supervisors.
- Respond to benefits, FMLA/ADA leave, and workers’ compensation questions while coordinating with providers and third-party administrators.
- Serve as the primary leave-administration contact for assigned departments, including FMLA, workers’ compensation, military leave, disability, ADA accommodations, HIPAA privacy requirements, and attendance policies.
- Support payroll deduction and employer contribution reconciliations, vendor payments, plan communications, and general benefits administration.
- Partner with the Benefits Manager to evaluate programs, monitor industry and legislative developments, and recommend improvements.
- Coordinate annual enrollment, wellness initiatives, benefits events, and vendor visits.
- Collaborate with the HRIS Manager on benefits system configurations, interfaces, troubleshooting, and testing.
- Contribute to additional Benefits and Leave projects as assigned.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Three to five years of related experience administering benefits and/or leave-of-absence programs.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local requirements related to benefits, leave, and workers’ compensation.
- Strong written and verbal communication, customer service, organization, and prioritization skills.
- Ability to manage changing priorities, work effectively with frequent interruptions, and build productive relationships with employees and the public.
- Comfort using computers and related security software.
Preferred Qualifications
- CEBS, CBP, PHR, SPHR, or CCP certification.
- Broad knowledge of compensation, benefits, and welfare laws and practices, including HIPAA, FMLA, ADA, and USERRA.
- Understanding of benefit plan design and policy.
- Experience administering self-insured benefits in a government environment.
