- Manage end-to-end payroll processing using platforms such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, UltiPro, Kronos, or Ceridian to ensure employees are paid accurately and on schedule.
- Perform detailed data entry related to employee hours, wages, bonuses, deductions, and benefits within various payroll and accounting software systems.
- Reconcile payroll accounts through general ledger accounting practices, ensuring all debits and credits are correctly posted.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks, coordinating with HRIS systems for seamless benefits management.
- Prepare and review journal entries related to payroll expenses and process accounts payable and receivable transactions as needed.
- Conduct account reconciliations to verify accuracy across multiple financial systems, including QuickBooks and other accounting software.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations by managing tax filings, reporting requirements, and maintaining detailed records for governmental audits.
- Support non-profit or governmental accounting processes when applicable, adhering to specific regulatory standards.
- Assist with internal audits by providing detailed reports on payroll data, benefits administration, and financial transactions.
- Proficiency in payroll management software such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, UltiPro, Kronos, or Ceridian is essential.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles including double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, general ledger reconciliation, debits & credits.
- Experience with accounting software like QuickBooks or similar financial tools is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of human resources systems (HRIS) for benefits administration and employee data management.
- Familiarity with tax regulations related to payroll processing and experience in tax reporting procedures.
- Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy (10 key typing) and attention to detail.
- Ability to analyze financial data effectively and produce clear reports for management review.
- Strong organizational skills in handling accounts payable/receivable processes and account reconciliation tasks.
