About the Role
The Payroll Analyst is responsible for managing enterprise-wide, multi-state, multi-national payroll across multiple FEINs and systems. This role oversees end-to-end payroll operations and partners closely with HR, Finance, and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely payroll for approximately 950 employees with expected continued growth in 2026.
Expertise in Workday payroll processes is essential, as the Payroll Analyst will serve as a functional owner and collaborator on system configuration, process improvements, and major company-wide initiatives. This role also supports critical annual processes, including the 401(k) audit, payroll-related reporting, and compliance activities.

Essential Job Functions
Payroll Management
- Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for multi-state, national, multi-FEIN operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Manage time tracking workflows; partner with employees and managers to ensure accurate hours and PTO reporting.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies, errors, and employee inquiries.
- Generate payroll reports and analytics for audit and compliance.
- Audit payroll data with external vendors and manage payroll-related third-party integrations.
- Manage state payroll tax registrations and ensure compliance with enrollment and balance requirements.
- Stay current on federal, state, and local payroll tax laws; communicate updates to stakeholders.
Functional Workday Ownership
- Recommend and implement process improvements within Workday payroll.
- Partner with the Workday HRIS Analyst to configure and maintain Payroll and Time modules.
- Work with HR Operations to test system upgrades and releases.
- Train employees and managers on Workday payroll functionality.
- Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for payroll systems.
Project Management
- Support annual projects, including merit planning, 401(k) audit, W-2 processing, and ACA reporting.
- Participate in data migrations and system implementation projects (Workday, OSV, Deel).
- Support organizational compliance and reporting requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 3–5 years of experience managing payroll for a multi-state, multi-EIN organization.
- Workday payroll experience is required. Certification is preferred but not required.
- Ability to become expert-level in OSV and Deel payroll systems.
- Strong knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance.
- High attention to detail and strong analytical capabilities.
- Familiarity with HR policies and procedures.

This role operates in an indoor office environment and requires the ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing), sit for extended periods, and use standard office equipment.
