The Workday Consultant will support a global payroll transformation initiative, partnering with cross-functional teams across HR, Payroll, IT, and external vendors. This consultant will provide localized HRIS support while contributing to a broader global strategy, ensuring compliance with international regulations (including GDPR) and aligning Workday configurations with business needs. This role will focus on optimizing Workday HCM and Payroll processes, supporting integrations, and helping to develop training materials to ensure successful adoption.
Worksite Location: Hybrid – Minneapolis, MN (Local candidates only)
Salary Range: Hourly rate between $55-$75, DOE

Roles & Responsibilities
- Support global Workday Payroll and HCM implementation and transformation initiatives
- Configure, optimize, and automate Workday processes across Payroll, HCM, Benefits, Compensation, Time, and Absence
- Partner with global payroll vendors to support integrations, testing, and implementation
- Ensure compliance with global and local payroll regulations, including GDPR
- Provide HRIS support to local and global teams while aligning with enterprise standards
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between HRIS, Payroll, IT, and business stakeholders
- Analyze data to identify system improvements and drive process enhancements
- Support training and knowledge transfer for internal teams on Workday and payroll processes
Required Skills & Experience
- 3–5+ years of HRIS experience with strong expertise in Workday (Payroll & HCM)
- LOCAL to Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area
- Experience supporting global payroll operations and multi-country environments
- Knowledge of global compliance requirements, including GDPR
- Experience working with third-party payroll integrations and implementations
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills
- Ability to collaborate across global, matrixed teams and manage multiple priorities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience supporting global payroll transformation projects (preferred)
- Exposure to European payroll environments (preferred)
- Integration experience within Workday (preferred)
