Senior Workday Financial Systems Administrator
Overview
An established and growing organization is seeking a Senior Workday Financial Systems Administrator to support and evolve its enterprise financial systems environment. This role will be responsible for the ongoing administration, enhancement, and optimization of Workday Financials, while partnering cross-functionally to improve financial operations, reporting, and scalability.
This position requires a blend of technical expertise within Workday Financials and strong functional knowledge across finance and accounting processes. The ideal candidate is comfortable operating in a dynamic environment and leading system-related initiatives that drive efficiency and business value.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary point of ownership for the Workday Financials platform
- Oversee system configuration, maintenance, enhancements, and performance optimization
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities
- Support core financial modules such as general accounting, payables, receivables, procurement, expenses, assets, and cash management
- Maintain and enhance business processes, workflows, and system security configurations
- Develop and manage reporting solutions, including dashboards and calculated fields, to support business insights and decision-making
- Lead system update cycles, including testing, validation, and rollout of new features
- Monitor system integrations and coordinate issue resolution with internal and external partners
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and data governance standards
- Drive continuous improvement efforts focused on system efficiency, scalability, and user experience
- Provide guidance and support to less experienced team members and business users
- Contribute to broader finance systems initiatives and long-term roadmap planning
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Business, Finance, Accounting, or Information Systems
- 5+ years of experience administering Workday Financials in a complex environment
- Strong understanding of financial processes, reporting, and enterprise system workflows
- Experience with Workday configuration, security, and reporting tools
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot issues and deliver effective solutions
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and business stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
Preferred Experience
- Workday certifications
- Exposure to planning or budgeting tools within Workday Adaptive Planning
- Familiarity with system integrations and data exchange frameworks
- Experience operating in multi-entity or rapidly evolving business environments
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks or regulated environments
- Prior experience mentoring or supporting team development
