We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Payroll Manager to lead our payroll operations with precision and enthusiasm. Responsibilities
- Manage the complete payroll cycle, including data entry, processing, and reconciliation using payroll software such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, or UltiPro.
- Ensure accurate calculation of wages, deductions, taxes, benefits administration, and compliance with applicable laws.
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable related to payroll transactions; perform journal entries and general ledger reconciliation.
- Maintain detailed records of payroll transactions, employee benefits, tax filings, and audit documentation.
- Collaborate with human resources and finance teams to ensure proper classification of employees and compliance with governmental accounting standards.
- Conduct analysis of payroll data to identify discrepancies, improve processes, and support financial reporting requirements.
- Stay current on payroll regulations, tax laws, and industry best practices to ensure ongoing compliance and operational excellence.
Skills
- Extensive experience with payroll management systems such as UKG, Workday, Kronos, Ceridian, or PeopleSoft.
- Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks and other financial tools; strong understanding of general ledger accounting and double-entry bookkeeping.
- Knowledge of HRIS platforms combined with expertise in benefits administration and non-profit or governmental accounting is highly desirable.
- Strong data entry skills along with attention to detail for account reconciliation and journal entries involving debits & credits.
- Excellent analysis skills to interpret financial data related to payroll; ability to perform 10 key typing efficiently.
- Familiarity with tax experience related to payroll taxes; understanding of federal/state/local tax regulations is essential.
- Ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly; experience working within human resources functions is a plus.
