Summary:
We are seeking an organized, motivated, and compassionate Assistant Practice Manager to join our growing veterinary team. This leadership role supports the Practice Manager in overseeing the daily operations of our hospital while helping to create an exceptional experience for our clients, patients, and staff.
The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and previous experience in veterinary practice management.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the day-to-day management of hospital operations
- Partner with veterinarians and the Practice Manager to achieve hospital goals
- Support, coach, and/or motivate staff
- Help recruit, onboard, and train new team members
- Assist with employee scheduling and timekeeping
- Monitor workflow and ensure efficient patient care and client service
- Address client concerns professionally and resolve issues promptly
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements
- Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies
- Support payroll, reporting, and administrative tasks
- Help maintain a positive, collaborative workplace culture
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, communication, and client satisfaction
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of veterinary technician experience in a clinical setting
- 2+ years leadership or management experience, preferably in a veterinary setting
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred and considered a strong plus
- Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Preferred: Experience with veterinary practice management software (i.e. EzyVet and Idexx)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer applications
- Ability to lead by example in a fast-paced environment
- Passion for delivering outstanding client service and supporting exceptional patient care
- Comfortable standing, bending, and moving throughout the workday.
