The opportunity
Evermont Business Services is hiring a Human Resources Specialist to support our distributed workforce and keep everyday HR operations organized, accurate, and responsive.
You will help employees navigate onboarding, benefits, company policies, and workplace transitions. Working closely with our Human Resources Manager, you will also maintain employee records, coordinate recurring HR activities, and improve the processes that shape the employee experience.
This opportunity is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys a combination of employee interaction, administrative ownership, and practical problem-solving.
Who we are
Evermont Business Services provides administrative, customer support, and operational services to growing businesses. Our employees work remotely across the United States, helping clients manage daily activities and improve internal processes.
Our People Operations team works with managers, finance, recruiting, and IT to ensure employees receive consistent support throughout their time with the company. We value clear communication, dependable follow-through, and respectful handling of sensitive matters.
What your work will involve
Your responsibilities will follow the employee journey, from preparing for a new hire’s first day to coordinating a smooth departure.
Welcoming new employees
You will coordinate onboarding paperwork, schedule orientation sessions, and work with hiring managers and IT to prepare equipment and system access. You will track outstanding onboarding tasks and help new employees understand where to find information and support.
You may also assist recruiting by scheduling interviews, maintaining candidate records, and preparing approved offer documents.
Supporting day-to-day employee needs
You will monitor the shared HR inbox, answer routine questions, and follow requests through to resolution. Common topics include time off, benefits enrollment, employee information updates, and company procedures.
When a request involves a sensitive concern, an exception, or an unfamiliar policy question, you will gather the necessary information and involve the HR Manager.
Keeping information accurate
You will maintain employee profiles in our HR information system, process approved changes, and review records for completeness. You will coordinate payroll-related updates with finance and prepare employment verification letters and other approved documents.
You will also compile routine reports covering headcount, onboarding progress, turnover, and training completion.
Coordinating recurring HR programs
You will support benefits enrollment, performance review schedules, employee feedback activities, and training coordination. This includes preparing communications, tracking participation, and helping employees and managers complete required steps.
For employee departures, you will organize offboarding documentation and coordinate with payroll, IT, and the employee’s manager.
Improving how we work
You will help update onboarding guides, internal FAQs, and HR process documentation. By identifying recurring questions and administrative delays, you will recommend practical improvements that make support easier to access and processes easier to follow.
What we are looking for
You should bring 2–4 years of experience in human resources, HR administration, or people operations, along with:
- Experience supporting onboarding, employee records, benefits administration, or related HR processes.
- Familiarity with an HR information system such as BambooHR, ADP, Workday, or a comparable platform.
- Strong organizational skills and careful attention to detail.
- Clear, respectful written and verbal communication.
- Good judgment when handling confidential information.
- Working knowledge of Excel or Google Sheets.
- The ability to prioritize requests and manage several deadlines.
- Confidence working independently and recognizing when additional guidance is needed.
- A basic understanding of U.S. employment practices.
A degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is welcome. Equivalent relevant professional experience will also be considered.
Experience supporting employees across multiple U.S. states, working in a remote organization, or coordinating payroll changes would be helpful. HR certifications such as SHRM-CP, aPHR, or PHR are welcome but not required.
Your team and working arrangement
You will report directly to the Human Resources Manager and collaborate regularly with department managers, recruiting, finance, and IT.
This is a fully remote position with no required office attendance or business travel. The role requires approximately 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with availability during 10:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Your remaining working hours can be arranged with your manager to support team coverage.
We provide a company laptop and access to the tools you need. You will need reliable internet access and a workspace suitable for confidential conversations and secure handling of employee information.
How you will get started
Your first few weeks will focus on learning our systems, policies, and support procedures. You will shadow common requests, meet key contacts, and begin handling routine tasks with guidance.
As you become familiar with the company, you will take ownership of onboarding coordination, standard employee inquiries, and recurring administrative activities. By the end of your first three months, we expect you to manage those responsibilities with increasing independence and identify opportunities to improve them.
We evaluate success through accurate work, timely responses, reliable follow-through, and thoughtful handling of employee needs.
What we offer
The annual base salary for this role is $60,000–$85,000, based on relevant experience, demonstrated skills, and responsibilities. The position is also eligible for a discretionary annual performance bonus.
Benefits include:
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance.

- 20 days of paid time off, plus company holidays.
