Sr Manager, HRIS – Workday (Talent, Comp, Benefits Focus)
About the Role:
We are seeking a strategic, hands-on Senior Manager, HRIS with deep Workday expertise in Talent, Performance, Compensation (including Advanced Compensation), Benefits, and Learning. This role will be a key member of the HR Technology and Analytics team, partnering cross-functionally to ensure Workday meets the strategic and operational needs of the organization by optimizing functionality, streamlining configuration, and supporting enhancements across the employee lifecycle.
In this role, you will drive continuous improvement by recognizing the needs of HR and the business, identifying gaps and potential fits, and managing the creative solutioning and delivery. A successful Senior Manager, HRIS will foster strong collaboration between HRIS and HR teams, proactively identifying and addressing cross-functional impacts of any design or configuration changes.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Workday’s cross functional complexities, security, configurations, and best practices, coupled with strong analytical skills and the ability to translate business requirements into effective system solutions.

- Lead the technical component of annual and cyclical events such as merit cycles, open enrollment, and goal setting process
- As a Workday expert, provide support to Workday functional owners and end users by diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving complex (Tier 2 escalation) system issues and problem areas
- Turn business requirements into technical requirements and proposed Workday solutions while treating every challenge as an opportunity for improvement and efficiency
- Deploy creative solutioning to accommodate for gaps between business needs and system capabilities
- Evaluate and drive deployment of feature releases and functionality to identify opportunities to improve and optimize the use of Workday, ensuring HR and business requirements are met (serve as subject matter expert on current and upcoming Workday capabilities)
- Partner with HR and IT leaders to seek out opportunities for continuous improvement and develop long term scalable solutions that help improve HR processes and streamline user experience by rethinking existing configurations and deploying new features
- Act as an active member for the Workday community - staying ahead of Workday updates, fixes and resolutions and make recommendations for continuous improvement
What You Bring To The Role:
- 6+ years' experience related to Workday implementation and management of enterprise HR applications as well as experience in handling Workday change requests, defects, incidents, and end user (employees + business partner) concerns
- Ability to clearly articulate messages with all levels in the organization, including breaking down complex technical topics for target audiences
- Ability to understand business priorities and align technology opportunities
- Ability to think and make decisions strategically, manage projects, and monitor/mitigate risk, prioritize workload and provide timely follow-up and resolution
- Strong problem solving, troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Extensive experience in in providing comprehensive support, configuration and administration for the Workday system particularly in a retail, multi-location, or hourly workforce environment
- Expert in Business Process Configuration and administration, including workflows, validations, and conditional rules
- Experience managing Workday cycles (e.g., merit, bonus, performance review, OE)
- Experience with Workday Learning content management or integrations (e.g., SCORM)
- Workday Pro Certifications a plus

Salary Range: $136,000.00 - $170,000.00

The base salary offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region of work premises, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
