Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Clerk to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing payroll processes, ensuring accurate data entry, and maintaining compliance with relevant financial and HR regulations. This role requires proficiency in various payroll and accounting software, strong analytical skills, and a solid understanding of financial concepts. The Payroll Clerk will play a vital role in supporting benefits administration, account reconciliation, and general ledger activities within our organization. Responsibilities
- Process payroll using systems such as Workday, Paychex, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, PeopleSoft, or Ceridian
- Perform data entry related to employee hours, benefits, and deductions with high accuracy
- Reconcile payroll accounts and prepare journal entries for financial reporting
- Manage benefits administration including enrollments and adjustments
- Maintain detailed records of payroll transactions and employee information
- Assist with accounts payable and receivable related to payroll expenses
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and prepare necessary filings
- Support general ledger accounting activities including double entry bookkeeping and account reconciliation
- Analyze payroll data for discrepancies or errors and resolve issues promptly
- Collaborate with HR and finance teams on HRIS updates and reporting requirements
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information
Experience
- Proven experience working with payroll management systems such as Workday, Paychex, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, or similar platforms
- Strong knowledge of accounting software including QuickBooks or equivalent financial software
- Familiarity with corporate accounting principles, governmental accounting standards, and non-profit accounting practices is preferred
- Experience in benefits administration, tax compliance, and account reconciliation processes
- Proficiency in data entry tasks such as 10 key typing and journal entries
- Understanding of financial concepts like debits & credits, general ledger reconciliation, and double entry bookkeeping
- Prior experience working within human resources or HRIS systems is advantageous
- Excellent analysis skills with attention to detail in financial data management

Pay: $44.10 - $69.03 per hour
