Workday Finance Implementation Project Manager
Location: Remote (with occasional travel)
Job Summary
STAFFXPERT LLC is seeking a Workday Finance Implementation Project Manager on behalf of our client in a remote capacity (with occasional travel). This role will lead the full lifecycle implementation of Workday Financials, driving end-to-end delivery from planning and design through deployment and post-go-live stabilization. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, deep functional expertise, and the ability to align financial processes with enterprise technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end Workday Financials implementation including planning, design, configuration, testing, deployment, and stabilization
- Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, including scope, timelines, milestones, and resource allocation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Finance, Procurement, IT, HR, and external partners
- Gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into system configurations
- Oversee key Workday Finance modules such as Financial Accounting, Supplier Accounts, Customer Accounts, Projects, Procurement, Expenses, and Reporting
- Manage relationships with vendors and implementation partners
- Lead data migration efforts including mapping, cleansing, validation, and cutover activities
- Drive testing cycles including unit testing, system integration testing, UAT, and regression testing
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks, issues, and dependencies
- Lead change management initiatives including communication, training, and stakeholder engagement
- Provide executive-level reporting to leadership and steering committees
- Support post-go-live stabilization and transition to support teams
Required Experience & Skills
- 7+ years of project management experience in ERP or enterprise technology programs
- Proven track record of delivering Workday Financials implementations (minimum two full lifecycle implementations)
- Strong expertise in Financial Accounting and Foundation Data Model (FDM)
- Deep understanding of Workday deployment methodology and SaaS ERP best practices
- Experience managing cross-functional teams in complex environments
- Knowledge of Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, and Record-to-Report processes
- Proficiency with project management tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet, or Jira
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills
- Experience managing budgets and vendor contracts
Preferred Qualifications
- Workday Finance certification or equivalent hands-on experience
- Experience in finance, accounting, or procurement within large-scale organizations
- Knowledge of Workday integrations (EIB, Studio, Prism Analytics)
- PMP, Agile, or Prosci certification
- Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement certifications
