Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to join our team! Duties
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing using platforms such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, or UltiPro, ensuring all employee payments are accurate and timely
- Reconcile payroll data with accounting software like QuickBooks or PeopleSoft, maintaining precise records of debits & credits, journal entries, and general ledger transactions
- Administer benefits programs and process related deductions, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee benefits
- Perform account reconciliation tasks related to payroll expenses, taxes, accounts payable, and accounts receivable to ensure financial accuracy
- Maintain compliance with tax regulations by preparing and submitting payroll tax filings accurately and on schedule
- Support HRIS systems for employee data management and assist with onboarding/offboarding processes related to payroll setup
- Conduct data entry tasks involving large volumes of payroll information while adhering to strict confidentiality standards
- Assist with governmental accounting requirements and non-profit accounting procedures as needed
- Prepare detailed reports analyzing payroll costs, benefits administration expenses, and other financial metrics
Experience
- Proven experience managing payroll processes using systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex or Kronos is essential
- Strong understanding of payroll management principles combined with knowledge of accounting software like QuickBooks or PeopleSoft
- Familiarity with HRIS platforms and benefits administration procedures
- Knowledge of federal and state tax regulations related to payroll processing
- Experience with general ledger accounting, journal entries, account reconciliation, and double entry bookkeeping techniques
- Ability to interpret financial concepts related to payroll expenses and benefits costs
- Excellent analysis skills for reviewing data accuracy and identifying discrepancies in complex financial records
- Prior experience working within corporate or governmental accounting environments preferred
- Strong attention to detail with proficiency in 10 key typing skills and data entry accuracy
