Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our dynamic finance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing the company’s accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payment of invoices, and maintaining strong vendor relationships. Duties
- Process and review all incoming invoices using accounting software such as Workday, SAP, or QuickBooks, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies.
- Perform account reconciliations and verify vendor statements to maintain precise records and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Prepare and process payments via Paychex, ADP, or other payroll and payment systems, ensuring compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls.
- Maintain detailed records of transactions, journal entries, and supporting documentation in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Collaborate with procurement, finance, and human resources teams to facilitate smooth processing of accounts payable activities.
- Assist with month-end closing procedures by reconciling general ledger accounts related to payables and expenses.
- Support audit preparations by providing detailed reports on accounts payable transactions and ensuring data accuracy.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with accounting software such as Workday, Sage, PeopleSoft, or UltiPro; familiarity with QuickBooks or Quicken is a plus.
- Strong understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, double-entry bookkeeping, and general ledger accounting.
- Knowledge of SOX compliance requirements and experience implementing internal controls.
- Familiarity with payroll management systems like Kronos or Ceridian is advantageous.
- Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy (10 key typing proficiency preferred).
- Ability to analyze financial data critically and perform account reconciliation efficiently.
- Prior experience in accounts payable within corporate accounting or public accounting environments is highly desirable. Pay: $24.48 - $29.48 per hour
