Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist and HR Assistant to join our team. Responsibilities
- Process payroll accurately and efficiently using payroll software such as Workday, Paychex, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, or Ceridian, ensuring timely payments for all employees including interns.
- Maintain and update employee records within HRIS systems, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
- Reconcile payroll accounts through general ledger accounting practices, including journal entries, account reconciliation, and double entry bookkeeping.
- Assist with benefits administration tasks such as enrollments, changes, and inquiries to support employee satisfaction.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable related to payroll expenses and vendor payments using accounting software like QuickBooks or similar platforms.
- Support HR functions including onboarding, offboarding, data entry for new hires, and maintaining compliance with employment laws.
- Perform analysis of payroll data to identify discrepancies or errors; prepare reports for management review.
- Contribute to governmental and non-profit accounting requirements by ensuring accurate tax calculations and filings related to payroll taxes.
- Assist with general bookkeeping duties including maintaining the general ledger, processing journal entries, and performing account reconciliations.
- Support other human resources initiatives such as benefits administration and employee record updates to foster a positive work environment.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with payroll management systems such as Workday, Paychex, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, or Ceridian is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliation.
- Familiarity with financial concepts related to payroll processing, governmental reporting requirements, and non-profit accounting is advantageous.
- Experience working with accounting software like QuickBooks or similar financial management tools.
- Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy; proficiency in 10 key typing is desirable.
- Solid understanding of human resources processes including benefits administration and HRIS systems.
- Ability to analyze financial data effectively; strong attention to detail and organizational skills are essential.
- Knowledge of tax regulations related to payroll taxes and compliance requirements for various organizations. Pay: $44.43 - $79.42 per hour
