Job Summary

Duties
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing using systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, UltiPro, Kronos, Ceridian, or PeopleSoft to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Reconcile payroll data with accounting software like QuickBooks or general ledger systems; perform account reconciliation to verify data integrity.
- Oversee benefits administration related to payroll, including deductions, tax withholdings, and compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Maintain detailed records of journal entries, debits & credits, and other bookkeeping activities associated with payroll transactions.
- Collaborate with human resources and finance teams to ensure proper classification of employees and compliance with non-profit or governmental accounting standards when applicable.
- Conduct regular analysis of payroll reports to identify discrepancies or errors; implement corrective actions promptly.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant tax laws and regulations by preparing necessary reports and filings accurately and on schedule.
- Support audits by providing detailed documentation on payroll transactions, account reconciliation reports, and related financial data.
Skills
- Extensive experience with payroll management systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, Kronos, UltiPro, Ceridian, or PeopleSoft.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles including double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, general ledger reconciliation, debits & credits.
- Proficiency in financial software like QuickBooks along with a solid understanding of corporate accounting practices.
- Familiarity with HRIS platforms for benefits administration and employee data management.
- Ability to perform detailed data entry with high accuracy using 10 key typing skills; excellent attention to detail is essential.
- Knowledge of tax regulations related to payroll processing; experience handling government reporting requirements is a plus.
- Analytical skills for reviewing payroll reports, conducting account analysis, and resolving discrepancies efficiently.
