Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Workday Integration Engineer to support and enhance Workday Payroll and Benefits integrations. This role focuses on maintaining operational stability, resolving production issues, supporting payroll processing, and developing new integrations as business needs evolve. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience with Workday Studio, PECI, EIBs, Core Connectors, APIs, and payroll integrations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day support for Workday Payroll and Benefits integrations.
- Monitor integration health, troubleshoot failures, and resolve production incidents.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive solutions.
- Manage and prioritize integration support tickets using Jira.
- Build, maintain, and enhance Workday Studio, PECI, EIB, and Core Connector integrations.
- Develop and maintain calculated fields, custom reports, and integration configurations.
- Support REST and SOAP API integrations with payroll and benefits vendors.
- Design and implement new payroll and benefits integrations.
- Support payroll processing cycles and resolve urgent production issues.
- Partner with Payroll, Benefits, HR, and external vendors to validate integration data.
- Maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and knowledge transfer materials.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of Workday Integration experience with Payroll and Benefits.
- Strong hands-on experience with Workday Studio.
- Deep expertise in PECI (Payroll Effective Change Interface).
- Experience with Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB) and Core Connectors.
- Experience developing Workday Calculated Fields and Custom Reports.
- Strong knowledge of REST and SOAP APIs.
- Proficiency with XML, JSON, XSLT, Web Services, and API integration patterns.
- Experience using Postman, SoapUI, or Bruno for API testing.
- Knowledge of OAuth 2.0, API security, error handling, and retry mechanisms.
- Experience with Jira and Confluence.
- Understanding of payroll systems and SOX compliance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Dayforce or ADP Payroll & Time & Attendance.
- Workday Integration, Payroll, or Benefits Certification.
- Experience with Workday Orchestrations.
- Knowledge of Workday Security and Business Process configuration.
- Experience working in fast-paced, enterprise environments.
