Payroll & Payroll Tax Specialist (Contract)
Our client is a large North American organization seeking a Payroll & Payroll Tax Specialist to support a high-volume, complex payroll environment. This is a 6-month contract engagement with the potential for future opportunities based on business needs.
The successful candidate will join an established payroll team and play a key role in payroll processing, payroll tax compliance, testing initiatives, year-end activities, and process improvement projects.

Process multi-state U.S. payroll and support Canadian payroll operations.

Manage payroll tax activities, including federal, state, and local compliance requirements.

Support year-end payroll processing and tax reporting activities.

Participate in payroll system testing and validation efforts.

Assist with payroll-related projects and system enhancements.

Provide audit support and identify opportunities for process improvements and standardization.

Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance.

Serve as an additional subject matter expert in payroll tax compliance within the team.

Hands-on Workday payroll experience.

Strong U.S. payroll tax expertise with the ability to work independently.

Experience managing payroll in a complex multi-state environment.

Experience supporting both U.S. and Canadian payroll operations.

Strong understanding of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.

Experience with third-party payroll tax vendors and payroll service providers.

Background in payroll process improvement, auditing, or operational excellence initiatives.

Experience supporting payroll system implementations, conversions, or testing projects.

Prior experience within a large, multi-location organization.
