Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our finance team. Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing using systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, UltiPro, Kronos, Ceridian, and other payroll software supported by the organization
- Ensure compliance with employment and labor laws, tax regulations, and company policies during payroll calculations and reporting
- Reconcile payroll data with accounting records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and benefits administration
- Maintain accurate employee records within HRIS systems and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information
- Prepare and review payroll reports, tax filings, and audit documentation with attention to detail and accuracy
- Collaborate with human resources to process new hires, terminations, salary adjustments, and benefit enrollments
- Support payroll-related inquiries from employees and management promptly and professionally
Qualifications
- Proven experience in payroll management within a corporate or non-profit setting with strong knowledge of payroll systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, Kronos, UltiPro or Ceridian
- Familiarity with accounting software including QuickBooks or similar financial tools
- Solid understanding of employment law, tax law, labor law compliance, and payroll tax regulations
- Proficiency in spreadsheets (Excel), data entry, account reconciliation, journal entries, double-entry bookkeeping, and general ledger accounting
- Experience handling confidential information with integrity and discretion
- Strong analysis skills coupled with attention to detail in processing payroll data and financial concepts
- Knowledge of HR systems related to benefits administration and time & attendance systems such as Kronos or similar platforms
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently
