- Process and verify a high volume of vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Manage accounts payable transactions using various accounting software such as Workday, SAP, or QuickBooks, ensuring timely payments.
- Reconcile accounts payable ledger entries through detailed account reconciliation and double entry bookkeeping techniques.
- Collaborate with vendors and internal departments to resolve discrepancies, questions, or issues related to payments or invoices.
- Maintain detailed records of all transactions, including journal entries, data entry logs, and audit documentation aligned with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements.
- Assist in month-end closing activities by preparing reports related to accounts payable and supporting general ledger reconciliation efforts.
- Support benefits administration and HRIS (Human Resources Information System) processes as needed, including payroll management via ADP or UltiPro systems.
- Strong understanding of GAAP accounting standards and financial concepts related to accounts payable and corporate accounting.
- Proficiency with accounting software such as Workday, Paychex, QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, or Kronos; experience with multiple platforms is preferred.
- Knowledge of SOX compliance procedures for internal controls over financial reporting.
- Experience with account reconciliation, journal entries, general ledger accounting, and analysis skills.
- Familiarity with payroll management systems like ADP or UltiPro; understanding of benefits administration is a plus.
- Excellent data entry skills including 10 key typing accuracy; attention to detail is essential for maintaining precise financial records.
- Ability to interpret complex financial data involving debits & credits, governmental accounting standards, non-profit accounting practices, and tax experience.
